Candice Night
Candice Night has been captivating audiences since 1993, beginning her career as a backing vocalist for Deep Purple. By 1995, she became the lyricist and vocalist for Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, and in 1997, she took on the role of lyricist and lead vocalist for Blackmore’s Night. With her unique blend of Renaissance, folk, and rock influences, she has performed to sold-out crowds worldwide, gracing UNESCO historical sites and renowned venues across Long Island, including The Paramount in Huntington, The Bolton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore, Patchogue Theater, and Westbury Music Fair.
Candice records her music primarily on Long Island, often at Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, as well as other notable studios in New York. Her performances extend beyond the stage, as she has been honored as the Fairie Queen during Fairy Festivals and has embodied the roles of Princess Candice and Princess Amora at international interactive events like Great Wolf Lodge and MagiQuests.
During winter festivals, she was recognized as the Snow Queen and was the first-ever Snow Queen at The Charles Dickens Festival in 2017. That year, she and her children participated in the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry float while Blackmore’s Night’s Winter Carols played throughout the festival, which saw record-breaking attendance.
With a career that has influenced countless fans of all ages, Candice has broken boundaries with her melodic music and uplifting lyrics. Her ability to blend multiple genres has resulted in a signature sound that resonates worldwide. Beyond her powerful vocals, she plays a variety of rare and historical instruments, including the shawm, cornamuse, rauschpfeife, pennywhistle, hurdy-gurdy, and chanters, inspiring musicians to explore these unique sounds.
Her contributions to the music industry extend far beyond Blackmore’s Night. She has collaborated with renowned artists such as Helloween, Beto Vazquez, Anastasia, William Shatner, Dweezil Zappa, and Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, among others. Her impact is further reflected in her strong social media presence, with over 101,000 followers on her personal platforms and more than 204,000 on Blackmore’s Night’s pages.
Candice’s artistry has earned her multiple gold records, and each of Blackmore’s Night’s 11 studio albums has charted on Billboard. In addition to her success with the band, she has released two solo albums—Reflections (2011) and Starlight, Starbright (2015), with a third solo album set for release in April 2025. She has donated hundreds of copies of her lullaby album to children’s hospitals and schools that support learning-challenged children.
Beyond music, Candice is dedicated to philanthropy, particularly in animal welfare. She actively supports local animal rescues and shelters, including Save-A-Pet and North Shore Animal League, raising awareness and contributions at her concerts. Through Blackmore’s Night, she has also supported global efforts, such as donating a portion of European ticket sales to the World Wildlife Fund, which helped plant 6,000 fruit trees in Borneo. Her deep appreciation for nature and animals is evident in her songwriting, where she encourages listeners to embrace the beauty of the world around them.
